In late November, when the air is crisp and the leaves begin to glow in rich amber tones, we had the honor of planning an unforgettable wedding for a Hong Kong-based couple who live between Tokyo and Hong Kong.

They envisioned a celebration that was not extravagant, but deeply personal — something refined, rooted in nature, and beautifully simple. What unfolded at a private onsen ryokan was a day full of quiet luxury, emotional connection, and heartfelt design.
Personal Styling Through Color and Shape
Highlight your signature design approach.
As part of our signature service, we began with a personalized consultation rooted in color theory, body structure analysis, and personal brand identity.
The bride, graceful and poised, was perfectly suited to clean silhouettes and fine materials.
Her custom-made gown, created by the Japanese couture house Maison Rendez-Vous, was crafted from exquisite European textiles.
The look was completed with a veil delicately embroidered with lilies — a quiet symbol of her inner strength.
The groom, a creative with a calm energy, looked striking in a custom-made beige suit with soft green undertones — a palette that perfectly reflected his essence.
Creative Collaboration: From Films to Florals
Showcase the creative journey.
Our design meetings with the couple often ran long — not out of indecision, but from the joy of shared vision. We spoke of favorite films, meaningful imagery, and seasonal motifs, slowly shaping a wedding that was both cinematic and deeply authentic.
The floral design included Japanese pampas grass (susuki), arranged with moss-covered bases and sculptural floral tiles — a nod to the bride’s love for dynamic, modern design.

The ceremony was conducted entirely in Cantonese. Working closely with their MC, we ensured the pacing and tone were just right for every guest.
One of the most moving moments came during the “Water Ceremony,” inspired by traditional Japanese rituals. Both mothers came forward, held hands, and blended sake from two vessels — a beautiful symbol of unity and respect.

As the evening continued, guests enjoyed freshly grilled yakitori outdoors during cocktail hour, followed by an exquisite kaiseki dinner.
With sake flowing and soft jazz in the background, the after-party began with a traditional sake barrel breaking, and Mochi Pounding.
What followed was an unforgettable night of dance, laughter, and community — with the sake barrel emptied by the end.
A Lasting Connection – From Wedding to Friendship
A few weeks after the wedding, the couple invited me to their Tokyo home for a homemade dinner.
As busy professionals constantly traveling between Hong Kong and Japan, their hospitality left a deep impression on me.
I didn’t just plan a wedding — I gained lifelong friends.
