Hello! I’m Mina, the founder of Japan Weddings and Mina Inc, a Japanese flower stylist and wedding producer based in Tokyo. 
I have been a professional flower designer for 20 years and an events and wedding planner for almost 10 years.
I’m a member of ABC (American Bridal Consultant) and IWPA (International Wedding Planner’s Association) .

My career started as an executive secretary in a number of American companies in Tokyo. One of my jobs was arranging business parties, and I found that I loved finding exclusive restaurants and venues for executives’ special occasions. I had been enjoying flower arranging as my weekend hobby but after I studied the “Paris style” of floral creation in Paris, my life changed.

I found that the French idea of color combinations were so glamorous, and compositions were natural and spontaneous. It was totally different from other types of flower arranging… breath-taking works of art. I was lucky to have a chance to learn the concept of the “Bouquet Rond Mariage” (“Round Wedding Bouquet”) and how to capture the “esprit of design” from a French Cup Champion (he’s now M.O.F. ) in Paris in his boutique.
I won a prize in a flower competition in Japan and started my career as a freelance flower stylist for bridal and media events.

I was chosen by a highly regarded department store in Japan to be their special coordinator in 2012 for a premier event featuring Shane Connolly who arranged Prince William and Princess Catherine’s wedding flowers in 2011. The event has become legendary in this fine store’s history.
It was an unforgettable experience for me. Since then, I have expanded my career and my creativity to include event planning.

Currently, my company offers an exclusive type of wedding business in Japan with individualized, creative weddings in which the bride and groom determine what they want for their special day.

I especially enjoy doing this for couples from overseas. I’m so glad to support them in Japan as an “independent” and “bilingual” wedding planner as well as a wedding designer because this type of producer is not very common in Japan.

My purpose in my work and in my life is to facilitate understanding, whether it is between the participants of a wedding, between businesses, or across cultures in any setting.

My philosophy is summarized by the following:

My passion is to become a cultural bridge while serving others.
